Patent Urachus

During fetal development, urine is expelled from the foal’s bladder through the urachus into the allantoic sac, the fluid that surrounds the fetus. After birth, this quickly closes in a few hours. In the event that failure of the urachus to close, urine can drip or stream from the naval.
