Veterinary Technician

I made my way into the animal care industry 6 years ago at an exotic bird sanctuary and boarding facility, quickly making my way to a management position. Knowing that I wanted to make my mark and be an advocate for all animals, I made the decision to go to school to get a degree for what I loved to do – care for animals. After graduating from Vet Institute of Houston where I received my Associates of Applied Science Degree, I started here at PAH in January 2013. I have two pet rats named Squeaky and Klaus who adore my daughter and want nothing more than to play with her.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Born and raised in Texas – I am Texas A&M graduate. I received my Bachelors in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences in 2012. In order to prepare myself for working in the veterinary field I came back home to Houston to complete a veterinary technician program at the Vet Tech Institute of Houston graduating in 2014 with an Associates of Applied Sciences but more importantly gaining the hands-on experience and confidence to care for and understand the health needs of animals large and small. I finished up my veterinary technician program as an extern at Parkwood and happily accepted the employment opportunity to join such a dedicated team in June 2014. Outside my time spent at Parkwood, I enjoy playing softball, being outdoors no matter the activity and goofing around with my two Chihuahuas, Nike and Prince. Nike is fast as lightening and is my well-mannered tan handsome boy. Prince is my black, spoiled little charmer but don’t let his baby face sway you into giving him any extra treats.

I graduated from Clear Brook High School in 2010. I had interned here during my senior year and was asked to join the team at Parkwood Animal Hospital before I graduated. Ever since then I have been working beside an amazing staff and two wonderful doctors. I have two pets of my own that mean the world to me and it is easy to see the bonds that our clients have with their own pets. Big or small, I care for them all. I will be here for you and your pet. Our staff will be here for you and your pet. Parkwood Animal Hospital is that “2nd family” your pet gets to have.

I’ve had pets for as long as I can remember and since I was little I knew I always wanted to work with them. I’ve lived in League City most of my life but moved to Wimberley, TX in 2008 where I started working at an animal hospital in Kyle, TX. I started as a kennel technician and was later promoted to receptionist. It was a great first job because I was exposed to so many new and interesting things which helped me gain a lot of knowledge of the veterinary field. In 2011, I moved back to League City and started working at Parkwood Animal Hospital which I love. When I’m not at work, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, listening to new music and playing video games. I have five dogs – two Salukis named Duffy and Obi, a Terrier Mix Malie, Anya, a Shepherd Mix and Piper who is a very excited and talkative “chiweenie”.
